Overwhelmed? Not enough hours in the day? Tired all the time? Don’t even know where to start? Always facing too much and trying to put a smile on your face?
Sound familiar? If so, welcome to the club!
One thing we all have in common as people is that somewhere along the way we are going to feel stressed. Sometimes it’s a little stress. Sometimes it feels like the weight of the world. This is especially true when you are the one responsible and accountable for everything.
When you find yourself weighed down it feels hard to breathe. It becomes difficult to know where to start digging your way out. When you feel like you might be a little ahead, the ground shifts, and it’s hard to know what to expect next. Where to take the next step.
Stress can affect you mentally and physically: muscle tension, difficulty concentrating, trouble with short-term memory, and exhaustion. You may even get to a place where day-to-day joys do not make you happy as they once did. Where your dearest loved ones are no longer welcome to play a part in your inner life. This is not the way to live your best life.
If you have reached a point where ways that you have de-stressed in the past don’t seem to cut it any more, where you feel even more out of control, it may be time to accept help.
So what can a person do about stress?
There are times when stress passes with time. There are times when more help is needed. This is where counseling can help you find unexpected relief from the pain and anxiety of constant stress.
Some people don’t think of seeing a counselor when the stress of life gets to be too much. You might be one of them. But, I can tell you that counseling can help in expected and even unexpected ways.
Counseling is for people who are anxious or depressed. Counseling is also a way to help you at any point in life when you are having difficulties or don’t know how to cope with what’s going on. The tools and techniques that help with anxiety and depression are also incredibly effective for other life challenges — challenges which are often all attributed to “stress.”
Where are you in life right now?
Know that it is possible to reset your path. There are ways to help you carry the weight of the world where it doesn’t feel so crushing.
My purpose is to help you “feel like the old me” again. To regain clarity and perspective. To be able to once again face problems and responsibilities without the anxiety that can cripple your ability to handle regular life and reclaim your sense of purpose once again.
We are all gifted our life. It is up to us to take the reigns and be the best version of ourselves and live our lives to the fullest.
